Then she was commissioned for three films with the Yash Raj Films label. She played a younger wedding bride to a middle-aged actor (Shah Rukh Khan) in the film. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka starred with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the movie Badmash Company. The film was met with mixed receptions. The same year Anushka Sharma was seen in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat' along with Ranveer Singh where she played an upper-middle class Punjabi girl who launches her own wedding-planning business. The film was praised by critics and was deemed a sleeper and a huge success. Anushka's three-film deal with Yash Raj Films ended with the release of Band Baaja Baaraat.
